How will Boeing respond to the 320NEO?
How do you guys think Boeing will respond to the A320NEO series? Most of the opinions are that they simply will not respond and will loose massive market share, until an entirely new narrowbody appears on the market. What are your opinions?

So basically loose large amounts of market share in the short term for the hope that somehow long term they can gain that plus more back? The 737RS (if it gets announced) will not fly before 2020, and most likely around 2025.s In the meantime that is a lot of aircraft Boeing will not be selling.

I think Boeing should just push some re-engined, updated 737 out with a new cockpit.

I think the rumours are true, but still, it's too late for boeing to get a competitive edge against airbus and it's A320NEO

Last year wikipedia said the 797 would be announced at the 2010 Paris Air Show... Tongue I think no one apart from Boeing really knows if/when they might announce anything Wink

There is no such thing as the 2010 Paris Air Show.

My bad, it was Farnborough International Airshow.

My bet is that Boeing will not announce anything until the 787 is flying profitably for at least the launch customer. Perhaps they will already announce it, but I would expect them to wait until the 787 has entered revenue service. Let Boeing prove me wrong.. Wink
