Boeing Vs Airbus

nino, don't trash talk with no given explanation. Cathay, you can't just say that, you have to give me the numbers. The reason the A321 is heavier is because there are way more seats on it.

The A380 was a really bad move. Yes, it might be a great plane, but the world just can't handle it. I highly doubt they have ever filled the thing, plus who would want that many people around them? And not to mention it's had engine failures and already hit another plane and a building at the Paris Airshow. That's gotta be embarrassing. It's just too big. The 747 already filled the market and did an amazing job of it. It's almost like the only reason Airbus built it was to one-up Boeing. And now they're paying for it.

And did you hear about Airbus declaring publicly that the Bombardier CSeries is dead? It's far from dead! The day after that was said, Bombardier got more orders for it! Airbus is scared of the CSeries and is being very aggressive to Bombardier. I can't get past that. Airbus is starting to step over the line.

A-380 wasn't a bad move at all. Just what we needed at that. Yea, it is hard to EVER fill a plane to the brim, no matter DC-3 or 380.380 is good for routes 747s do that are full, It allows more pax. and less flights.

If it's hard to ever fill an air plane to the brim, then why do you keep making bigger ones? The A380 isn't really needed right now, the 747-8I can already do the job well enough.

And all flights that I've been in for the past 2 years have been completely full. From tine Embraers to wide-bodies. And what I meant about a bad move was timing. It's too big for the present. And I don't see any American airlines ordering any. It's just not worth it.

You cant say that Boeing has been more successful cause they have had an advantage of like 20years AND if you look at the numbers, Airbus is getting more orders than Boeing the last few years

I still like Boeing Better

BINGO.
The idea of the A380 was to transport large amount of people hub-hub, cause there is always the demand. Boeing took the smarter approach of making a plane that can connect any two cities for point-point travel. That way, people don't need to take another flight from the hubs the A380 serve, to smaller destinations. It's technically the more convenient way.

The reason you don't see American Airlines ordering any is because there is no need for such a big plane in the USA. If you look at Asia, almost every country has a airport, and they almost always have a really high demand. So Asian airlines can utilize the A380 on Intra-Asia routes, for maximum load factor. Same thing with Europe.

Now, look at USA. There are only a few large destinations in the USA, not like Asia at all. They don't have the demand to utilize the A380 on domestic routes, and that's the most profitable kind of route to operate the A380. You see? Your never gonna get a high profit by utilizing the A380, on say LAX-TPE. It's NEVER gonna fill up. The Fuel-to-Passenger Ratio on long haul routes for the A380 just doesn't work. Airbus would have been better off making the range for the A380 domestically and adding a few extra seats instead of the fuel's weight.

Well looks like Airbus is better right now especially since American has ordered 260 Airbuses and 200 Boeings
